This is my site about earthworms. I culture and nurture earthworms and use their vermicompost to fertilize my organic farm in Brgy Sampaloc, Tanay, Rizal where I grow cilantro, basil, lettuce, tomatoes, papayas - actually all kinds of vegetables and fruits and I attribute my success at doing this to the wonders of vermicompost Earthworm Culturing Starter Kit: We have available an easy way to start culturing earthworms. With this starter kit you get a complete system for raising earthworms in your own home. The Starter kit costs P3,000 includes approximately 1,000 earthworms, instruction manual, a 1-2 hour seminar at the La Mesa Ecopark and a 2 piece housing for the earthworms. We give seminars daily from 10am to 4pm except Mondays at the La Mesa Dam Ecopark. The seminars are by appointment basis. Please call us at 0922 896 1996 or 931-2617. Earthworm Demonstration and Training Site: You can visit us at the La Mesa Ecopark. You would take Commonwealth Av. towards Fairview. When you get passed the Welcome Marker of Fairview look for Pearl St on the right side of the road. On the corner you will see a Citi Oil gas station. Turn right on Pearl St. Follow the signs to Eco Park About 200 mtrs. look for the entrance gate to the La Mesa Eco Park on your right. If you are taking public transportation there are tricycles at the Citi Oil station that will bring you to EcoPark. Ask the guard how to get to the vermicompost facility inside the park. There is an interesting article I wrote called "Angels of the Earth" and an article from the June 19, 2009 issue of the Inquirer called "Wealth in Worms" by Ernesto Ordonez. You can find both in the blog section of this site. | Photos | May 25, 2011 |

 | Do you conduct seminars in quezon city? La mesaEco Park is very far. |
 | Uncle Anthony, vermicompost soil especially the nightcrawlers are great for society's farming environments. If only environmental agriculturists would inculcate this system into their farming, it would really make all plants, fruits and vegetables the best for human; even animal consumption. I'm going to get my wormfarm started in my backyard, I need vermicompost soil & the seeds. The starter kit.. this week would be great!

 | Good day! I am really interested to know more about vermiculture. We have an unused property that I wanted to convert into a beautiful garden of plants and vegies without using harmful chemicals. I had been inquiring locals who are into plant business if they have the worms but to no avail. I' am interested to buy your starters kit. the problem is I'am from Eastern Samar and it's 24 hours trip to manila.

 | Greetings! I would like to inquire the steps in creating vermicompost. I have read an article about how vermicompost can substitute as sa fertilizer. How do I use it? Do I use it as soil for my vegetables or should I mix a ratio of it to ordinary soil? How often do I need to apply vermicompost on my plants? I appreciate if you can email to me at franklinkhu@gmail.com. |
 | Hey Uncle Anthony, So I did a little research on BT (bacillus thuringiensis) and found a few organic stores that sell it. The only catch is that these stores sell BT for American species of caterpillars and insects. The informational sites that I read suggested that for each kind of pest there is a different form of BT which is why it is preferable. If you use this pest control and have other bugs that are helping your garden, only the targeted species will be affected. I found 4 major groups that you can buy but my research suggested that there may be many more types than that, each with their own special target species. In order to select the proper form I need to know what kind of caterpillars or other pests you're dealing with. I'm pretty sure that you're going to want the Bacillus thuringiensis var kurstakiI variety. I sent a message to a research & outreach center at UC Davis and I'm going to ask my friend at the UC Santa Cruz farm to see if they have any suggestions or at least know where I can find a list of different types of BTs and their target species. Here's a couple links with some info that I found useful. http://www.planetnatural.com/site/xdpy/kb/natural-pest-control-bt.htmlhttp://www.bt.ucsd.edu/index.htmlemail: romineaj@gmail.com phone: 650.465.5393 Love AJ |

 | Hello sir,
I am from the Ateneo de Manila University, and one of our classes is social entrepreneurship where we have to create a business from scratch while also empowering a marginalized sector. We picked vermiculture as a second choice after hydroponics garden, but with vermiculture we can still have the chances to empower them. Do you have any beginning tips for us new comers into the vermiculture industry? |

 | hello,
I'm benjie of Pinamalayan, Or. Mindoro, and I'm interested in learning about this vermiculture. I have been to a leisure farm in Batangas where I had a personal view of the same. When i started inquiring about vermiculture, no one seems interested in giving me a brief introduction. I already searched for it at the internet but still am interested to meet individuals who are really involved in this kind of business.
thank you.
